Outdoorsman Report – September 15th, 2015
Well the start of the winter season is here and the fishing last weekend was great. Reports of 60-80 fish days were reported by several people. The roads are open to 4-wheelers and snowmobiles and the resorts are working on getting there fish house’s pulled out and set up. As for the fishing most of the guy’s fishing the 17-18′ area between Morris Point and Pine Island was the hot spot. The fish call rattle spoons and hot tamale’s from JR’s were been doing good pink and white and the glow reds. The glitter gold backed jigs and spoons that were new last year have been the lure of choice. Don’t be in a rush to be the first one out to deep water the fish are still in the shallower water feeding on shiners. As always check with the resorts as to the best places to fish and the areas of the safest ice, it’s still early and the ice conditions can change daily.
